Pool Noodle Foam Type?
« on: October 16, 2020, 01:02:43 PM »
Does anyone know what type of foam pool noodles are made out of, and if they're compatible with gluing to foam core, with the paper removed?

Most if not all of those I have seen here in Europe are made of foamed polyethylen, which in my experience is awfully difficult to glue (and paint) without resorting to specialist glues and primers. Some two-part epoxies might work, but I haven't actually tried it.

They don't glue well...the things are made to not take things in either way. The same stuff that is supposed to keep them from taking on water makes it a pain in the rear to really do anything with it. It's nigh impossible to even glue it back together if the pool noodles or similar things tear
