Frostgrave Jedi - more figures painted

Having a tidy up and I found some sprues for some Frostgrave Male and Female wizards. Already having more wizards than Hogwarts and not wanting to put them onto ebay, I pondered what to do with them.

Seeing the long billowing robes, made me think of Jedi Knights. I had some spare spears, so I cut them down to become lightsabres.





I'm not completely happy with some of the lightsabre handles and may shorten them.

Now if it will stop raining, I'll get some undercoat on them.

That is a surprisingly effective conversion. I think it helps that one of your head options looks like a Clone Wars Kenobi to me. Top picture, far right. With a couple of other head swaps, this concept would really look dead on!

Seen light sabres done with coloured optic fibre before. Gives that neon look.

Thin acrylic rods are what I've seen the most...was a common thing to do to the WotC plastic lightsaber users to replace the ones they came with due to the plastic often ending up bending in a lot of the earlier expansions before they started adding things to protect them in the boxes

Looks like a legit answer to making some unofficial not-Jedi. I'm not totally sure if that saves money as I'm not familiar with the cost of just buying some licensed miniatures vs making your own from Frostgrave stuff, but I think it looks great regardless of your reasons for going this route!

According to my maths (based on what I paid, P&P etc.), it has worked out to be approx. £1.50 a figure. This is a lot cheaper than comparable official and unofficial figures. Hasslefree vary between £3 - £4 for their unofficial Jedi (admittedly metal), Imperial Assault figures (plastic) average about £10 for a pack (one or two figures) and for Star Wars Legion you'll looking at in excess of £10 for a single 32mm figure. Also, there is Etsy and Shapeways, which work out quite expensive for an individual figure.

Oh, that is quite the savings then. I almost always like the creative option over the "just buy it off the shelf" where hobby time is concerned.
