Zona Alfa - Miniature Search

I have started putting together a set of figures for Zona Alfa. I have some Russian NBC suit guys from Eureka and some guys from Lead Adventure. I'm looking for enemies like zombies and mutants.

Was curious where people had gotten their enemy models from and if you have pictures you would share?

My take on zone hostiles is a little different to that of the original, but assuming you are wanting hostiles true to the original location then there are lots of options.

If you are on Facebook then the author has a page called Stalker 7 which has lots of ideas from players, he also has a personal page Zona Alfa that has a list of useful miniature manufacturers as it's first post here:

If you're sticking to the default East-European/decayed Soviet aesthetic, an inexpensive start would be a swarm of Reaper Bones rats (all sizes) and a set of Mantic Zombies. (can't go wrong with a big box of zombies)
After that, you'll most likely encounter human vermin in the form of Bandits. So any grubby, AK-wielding thug will do.
For larger mutants types, the field is wide open: Zombicide Invader figs, individual Reaper Bones or Mantic Plague miniatures are a good place to begin.
There are classes or levels of hostiles, not mandatory types, so whatever fits your taste and budget.

Nolzurs Marvellous D&D Minis is one place I have gone to - I have some blink dogs I'm going to do something with. Also the Slaad and some Myconids. None painted yet but they will all be mutants of one sort or another on some zone run. 
You can use the vanilla mutant stats in the rules or tweak them a bit. I'm thinking the blink dogs are going to have a chance of fading out when you shoot at/kill them, rather than dying, and then reappearing next turn somewhere else random.

Other than that just raid your lead pile for monsters of any sort. If it is bigger than 40mm high it sounds like a Large Mutant. Or maybe you think your large figure is actually somewhat brittle - give it small mutant stats. As Patrick says - your zone, your rules

For the rats/vermin I used Anvil Rats.

This is four packs of them.

I am building some Studio Miniatures Zombies for the zombies (not finished yet). Here is an earlier example for scale against Crooked Dice's William Killian.

Not sure what to do for the Rad Ghouls, CD Fluke Shambles possibly.

I am using some Crooked Dice Militia for the bandits.

And some Crooked Dice Minions when the Karl restocks on the SAS gas mark heads.


I also have some "floral" challenges, I need to order some more when the gas mark heads are available.

Wow everyone thanks! I have a lot to look through now. I just started painting the Eureka NBC suit guys and working on terrain. My good friend who will be joining me in playing is printing out some terrain pieces on his 3d printer. I will start up another thread or rename this one to focus on the actual hobby pieces.

Okay so far I went ahead and picked up some reaper rats for my vermin swarms., Picked up some zombies from eureka to be zombies or rad ghouls, I'll be using my eureka and lead adventure figures as both my crews and bandits for now

I still need something to be my mutants and my wolves equivalent.

I used GW’s goblins from their Hobbit range for rad-ghouls. I made minimal changes, but you could easily snip off the existing weapons and replace them with something a little more modern looking, such as crowbars or pieces of pipe for clubs.

For wolves, look at Zombicide figs on eBay. Or Reaper Bones.

What flavor mutants? Again, you can find giant rats, worms, spiders, leeches, scorpions, etc at Reaper. Or Zombicide Invader aliens. Or there's Mantic Plague figs and their ghouls to consider.

Wargames Atlantic have a boxed set of plastic Dark Ages Irish that includes 10 dogs, so I picked up a box to use the dogs. Luckily I have a use for some of the figures (needed a large group of scruffy ragged poorly armed Scots for 1689, and these chaps look passable).

Necromunda's phelynx cats without their fins look great for ZA
