Smegin up some red dwarf figures
« on: 14 November 2020, 12:45:16 PM »
I've had these little 40mm corgi figures for years and always hated the awful factory paintjobs. Well with a thousand other things to do I figured this was the ideal time to tackle this non-issue with gusto.

First up is lister.

the original paintjob hides a quite nice likeness so this was quite fun to paint. Gotta paint old iron balls next, then maybe look into sculpting a cat and kryten.

Cheers :)
I think at the very least it looks more like Craig Charles than it did before - the original paintjob had more of a chia pet vibe :)

Cheers chaps :) I put some paint on old iron balls but sadly the figure doesn't have as much of a likeness as the lister.

Still, it's nice to have them looking shelf worthy and no doubt i;m going to get carried away and build a little display for them.

Smegging love it. I had no idea anyone ever made any sort of miniatures for Red Dwarf. Great brushwork on these.

They'resadly too large to use with any other minis, closer to 1/32 scale. I think there were some "not" red dwarf minis kicking around online a while ago tho. :)

Love the London Jets t shirt poking out of Lister's jacket! Great job you've done and it really makes you wonder why they put the effort into making a half-decent sculpt only to slather paint over it like that.
