Falcon Miniatures from the past
« on: 19 November 2020, 03:38:29 AM »
Does anyone know what happened to the old Falcon line of miniatures? e had Colonial, Ancients, SYW and others. Also does anyone know who the sculptor was? Years and years ago I knew the owner but he passed away suddenly.
Thanks,
Greg

At some point I believe the range was to be sold to Chariot miniatures, but there were some problems with the sale.  So I am not sure it went ahead . You might try asking Magister Militum who bought the Chariot range.

Thanks for the info. I know the original owner passed away at his daughters wedding. Jim, my wife and I would speak weekly about his new lines, orders and family. This was many years ago, maybe 30 years or so.

This is Falcon USA yes?  Falcon UK was Barry Hill (ex Essex miniatures), they had the best 15mm Meso American range I have ever seen (best in any scale actually) and a great 15mm French "Retreat from Moscow" set, neither of which I have seen revived elsewhere.

Yes the U.S.A. He was based in Massachusetts. Great people to know and work with. Really would like to know what happened to the molds.

The molds are currently with a US outfit.  It used to trade a bit, here and there.  The owner was called Kai.  Currently I think there is still a Facebook page but I don't recall them trading for the last few years.  A pity in my opinion they had some good stuff.

Thanks OB. If you can remember any more about Kai or the name he sold under it would be appreciated.
Magister Militum can only recall that the molds are somewhere in the U.S.A.

Falcon Figures was owned by Barry Hill before he sold the business to Kai in the USA. I sponsored the Norman range for Barry and got stiffed by Barry.

Allegedly BH took a set of moulds with him to the Philippines as he has/had run a painting service from there.

I don’t think Kai ever got his side of the business up and running that well.

There are a few posts on TMP about Falcon Figures but nothing since 2016.

I think he traded as Falcon 15s or perhaps Falcon Miniatures.  They turn up now and then on ebay USA.  I don't know anything else that would help.
