Martian Empires Rules Price Drop
« on: 23 August 2009, 07:30:12 PM »
Hi,

The ME Rules have been out for a while now and after some discussion with Ian, our partner in Oozlumgames, we have decided to drop the price of the rules from £15.00 down to £10.00 with immediate effect.

The USA price for the rules from Scale Creep Miniatures will also drop from $35.00 to $20.00.

This is the start of a push for Martian Empires with new releases planned and development of a dedicated section of our website.

Don't forget that our Martian Empires Army Packs offer at least 10% discount and now include all the bases you require for your troops as well.

Many thanks

Mike

Oh, sod it.

I've been resisting this for ages, too many other projects to get done, but you might have twisted my arm now.

Hmmm... wedding present from the Mrs, maybe...?  :D

This is good news... though I've already bought my copy. I heard something from Scalecreep last year about a full size airship? :) For some reason I really want my Red Martians to be a "naval" section.

Hi

There are plans for full-size Martian and British "aeronefs" at some point.  Unfortunately, the person who offered to do them for me a year ago seems to have canished, so I will need to get a different sculpter  - we are working on some new vehicles so I will probably get Jez at Old Crow to work on them as we have discussed the idea for a number of years.

The sticking point for me is how to provide a model that you can mount so it is flying - anyone have any suggestiions?

thanks

Mike

All I can think of is either using an "Evil Empire" flight base http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat1430063&prodId=prod1900001 or maybe a tripod? In any case it needs to be removable so it is possible to actually store the "mini" somewhere...

For flying bases, use cear acrylic rod.  It comes in varying dimaeters and lengths.  You can have pre-made lengths that you provide to the customers with the model.

This e-bay store sells all kinds of the stuff.  Include the cost with the model price+mark-up.

I thought the upturned wine-glass I saw in a recent post here worked pretty well for depicting flying models.

Doug
ps  - Mike, don't forget we have some flying bases - are they to small for what you want?

In that case, I suggest a free IKEA wine-glass with each model. :D

Red wine, rather than white wine glasses, would be preferable, as they tend to have larger circumferences, the model is therefore more stable and you can get more booze in each glass  ;)
