Marco!! DUDE!!!!!  :-* :-* How? The fence... how?!?!  o_o

Only problem is that they'll look wooden - I plan on coating them with PVA glue first. I'm hoping that will give me a good surface to paint the stone colors on.

Well my 6 attempts at cutting the Popsicle Sticks into crosses has failed. D@mn wood kept splitting!  >:( The rounded top stones are great. Tried it with a modeling knife & dremmel tool.  :'( Got to try something else for making those.

Lollysticks will be a bitch to cut, get some balsa wood, that and a good craft knife and you'll be good to go.

Warrenss2,

thank you! :D

Well, the fence huh? It's a long story...
I started trying to assembly a fence with pins... it worked but it was an infinite project.
Then... I saw what I need in a DYI store!
There were several different types of a kind of green plastic "net" to protect plants from birds and/or to "hinder" gardens, etc.
Some were nets with squared holes, or symilar, but ONE... that was THE net!!!
It had a not regular shape; that is there were rectangles of different dimensions.
The main problem is it was sold in rolls of 1 meter x 3 meters.
Too much for my task.

So I take my Swiss knife, always quietly sleeping in my pocket, and quickly cut a slice 10 cm x 30 cm. :?
Well, I'm not very proud of this theft, also because I'm not a kid and that action could have been very embarassing, but... what the hell: I need that net and I got it! 8)

So, my suggestion is to BUY (not steal) it in hardware or DYI stores.

As for crosses, I built them with wooden listels, stiffened with paper (that is: cut a cross in paper, then glue the listels on it!).

Hope this helps!!
Marco

check out craft foam sheets as well - Ummm... I guess I could PVA the sides to hold the paint. Might be able to make a mausoleum this way. Every graveyard should have at least one.  ;)

Craft foam actually holds paint pretty well, without coating first in glue or any other special treatment.

I've got a thread on craft foam over in the Workshop forum - photos and an update to that thread this coming week, I promise. Maybe event this weekend, if I get organized.

I just asked them for a sample  and they happily gave me a strip about 3 x 12 inches

Like this stuff? http://www.amazon.co.uk/PLANT-PROTECTION-NET-8M-2M/dp/B001674IKO
Does the netting squares come in different sized squares? Most of what I'm seeing is 10mm squares, I think that might be too big for a fence. Do you remember a brand name?

I'm just trying to narrow my search parameters down from "plant protection netting".  :)

;) You guys are very inspiring.

I'm going to have to check out Lowes and some gardening stores.

So it's just a protective border around the plants then? Not trimmed down from some netting. Do you know of a brand name that sales this?

Okay. Back to digging around on the net to find some of this stuff.

No, it was trimmed (pls, read the Swiss knife story) from a bigger net (1 meter x 3 meter).
The pattern is this, replicated over and over.

Ciao!

Here are a few miniatures that I'm going to mount on chess piece bases to make statues for my graveyard.

AND

Two should be enough don't you think? Don't want to over do a good thing.

Well, got to go. I'm off to Lowes to check their gardening section for some fencing.

Now where did I leave my Swiss Army Knife?

The first picture is a Dreamblade miniature. Can't remember the name of it off the top of my head...     "Saint of Roses", I think.

The second picture is of a Dungeons & Dragons miniature collecting game... called "Animated Statue".

All too true, White Knight.  :)

Marco. I cannot find that that fencing stuff anywhere! Would you be willing to ship some to me for a price?
