NO/5 Battery Isandlwana
« on: January 22, 2021, 08:09:53 PM »
Hi all, had these done for a while and thought with it being the 22nd January i'd post them up.

It is what i have so far for N/5 battery Isandlwana, hoping to add at least 10 more figures in fighting/fleeing poses. And also add some mules for the ammunition cart and have some riders trying to beat off zulus. And of course will add some Empress limbers once released =)

Also need to base and varnish everything but cannot decide on a basing theme at the moment. Must fix the N battery lettering too

Nicely done with your collection so far. It was interesting to find out that the artillery crews swapped over their bread bag to the right side and the water bottle to the left. This was corrected by Michael Perry on the release of the Royal Artillery gatling gun crew and field gun limber. I queried the change at the time.

I'm hoping Michael Perry will release some additional codes for the range this year. I have been working on this project for well over two years with much love for the period.

Look forward to seeing more of your work.
Best wishes,
Helen

Really nice work and a great choice of subject matter. Nice to see some bluecoats getting attention.

Oh those are smashing. Good job. I ought to get cracking on some of my own Empress and Perry Zulu stuff. Way too many things on the go at once, that's always been my problem.

Thank you for the kind comments everyone  :).

Must admit ive not painted much Zulu War stuff since August but seeing the coverage of the anniversary this year on various facebook groups im inspired again. Thinking perhaps a hospital wagon, one trying to escape and one wrecked and emptied of its contents. Thought it would make a good objective for a game, the British player trying to get as many wagons and troops to safety as possible, navigating the difficult terrain and gulleys etc

The wagon is Redoubt's general service wagon with an added cover. It is a good kit but lacking details and i also messed up the axle spacing of it. Really hoping Perrys or someone can bring out an up to date general service wagon, there is definetly a gap in the market for it!

Ah I’ve got the Redoubt general service wagons which I’ve also converted to Ammo wagons but didn’t recognise it as yours looks so different. I want to build a hospital wagon as well but as yet no one makes one for the AZW so will be keen to see how yours  progresses. Sure it will be top notch though.

Tempted to use the 4ground rucker wagon as a basic shell instead of the Reoubt general service wagon and then modify it to look like mk2 hospital wagon , have you seen it?

Although I would be very grateful if a manufacturer could release one and save all the work  ;)
