10mm Meosoamericans
« on: 08 February 2021, 08:15:11 PM »
Not sure if this is the best place for them as they don't really fit with any of the time periods, but here's an Aztec/Mexica and a Tarascan army in 10mm:

Aztecs

Tarascans

Other bits

These are examples of some victory point markers I'm using (though need bases to get the rest of them finished)

And one of the huts I'm using as camps

Also a battle report with them:

The Aztecs attempt to invade Tarascan territory, will the vicious warriors of the Aztec Triple Alliance be enough to overcome the powerful archery of the Tarascan State?

Wonderful job. How makes the figures?

I think by pouring molten white metal into a centrifuge, which in turn drives it into moulds.

They're from Pendraken's excellent Aztec range, though I modified some of them for the Tarascan army to add more bows, quivers, battle standards and varied outfits. They're beautifully detailed figures, I'm sure a better painter could get their full potential but there's a lot of options for colour and variety so good fun to paint.

Thanks guys!

Yeah, it's a fantastic period, lots of opportunities for colour and fun to be had, though isn't necessarily a super popular one. I can probably get a few more armies out of this figure range in future (Tlaxcalans and Mixtec/Zapotec for instance) with a few modifications. I'd like to do Inca and Maya at some point too, though may have to go for other scales as they're not really represented in my favoured 10mm. I'll probably add some Conquistadors to the mix as you've been doing once I start on the Tlaxcalans.

Those pesky Aztecs making trouble again

The Aztecs and Tarascans meet again! Will the agressive Aztecs be able to withstand the endless arrows of their Tarascan foe? Will the Tarascans be able to recover from a night of hard drink and partying to repulse these invaders from their land? Will their mercenary allies bother to join the fight?
