The project that got me into Cold War gaming back in about 2010(?) Stumbling across an obscure manufacturer called "Elhiem", who had a single pack of patrolling infantry, while looking for 1/72 Cold War Brits for diorama purposes, which then in turn led me to The Guild... and the rest is history.

A battlegroup based around a fictional TA unit, The Queens Own Atholl Rangers (mainly so I can include weird, esoteric chanky old shite that would otherwise be out of place...)

First up, SUNRAY MAJOR, the BG commander, resplendent in majestic tour 'tache and Barbour jacket, accompanied by the RSM ("No, sir. 3rd Shock Army are THAT WAY..."), an infantry officer, armour officer, and a somewhat non-descript, if ally, gentleman in DILAC hat, para smock and tropical trousers...

Pack of Embassy Regals and Iranian Mars Bar added to the map table in a fit of enthusiasm and paint fumes.

Disclaimer- I am not and never have been a soldier, this is just my fictional Cold War as viewed through the rose-tinted glasses of the ARRSE Forum and recollections of friends... :D

FOXHOUND (Infantry) platoon HQ. 10 years after the fact, these look a bit grim up close!   :?

"A" Section. These were my first "20mm" wargames figures... nice to see I've come on a bit in the last 10 years!

Same am I, I've just finished my BAOR project, with the some of the same figures. They don't look as good as Iain's though.

Very kind, gents, thanks!

"B" Section. Bit of an improvement over the first section, and the guy standing firing the '66 shows off the nice difference between the standard DPM, and the "trops" I've painted a few of the guys' trousers as, just to stop them becoming a big blob of dull green. I am also a massive fan of the light role GPMG pack, a great little piece!

STARLIGHT elements ("medical" to everyone else...)

1/76 JB Models plastic kits. The Saracen is a conversion from the standard APC, and would have been a rare sight indeed outside of Ulster by this time, but having seen a photo of obe on Crusader '80, that was good enough for me. Really chuffed with how these came out...
