2nd Edition - The King in Yellow
« on: March 15, 2021, 06:19:24 PM »
Has anyone played this scenario, found on page 94 of the 2nd Edition Rulebook?  If so can you explain it to me in layman's terms? Is the objective to disrupt the performance, summon the King, banish/kill the King?????

This scenario, if that's what it is, seems to lack the same clarity as the Basic and Advanced scenarios.  The same could be said for The Devil's Cauldron P92,  The Living Idol P96 and The Resonator P98.

Are they all Arcane Relics as noted on P90 and not Lurker/Threshold scenarios at all?  Are they Lurker only scenarios to gain the Arcane Relic that can then be used in later scenarios when fighting Threshold?

It's been ages since I've played SA but from what I remember is The King in yellow is an add on to a scenario. the Lurker play buys The King in Yellow special rules to use in a scenario which requires certain requirements. I think you need a certain number of human lurkers.

So you'd play say the Fight scenario, but the Lurker player places a stage and then has the option to use some of their Lurkers to spend actions performing the play in order to summon the King in Yellow which would then fight the agents.

The Fight scenario objective would still remain the same.
