French colonial Naval Landing Gun Crew - AHPC#11
« on: 26 March 2021, 12:05:10 AM »

Here is another entry of mine for the 11th annual Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge. This entry was for the beach landing chamber. I thought these minis from Askari Miniatures were perfect for this task. They are a standard (4) man gun crew plus one gun for my preferred rules set, TSATF, The Sword And The Flame. However I'm sure they would fit the bill for any of the other colonial rules sets. They are wearing the Late 1890's early 1900'a Naval Landing rig and uniforms. They man a French 80mm mountain gun. I actually painted these for my buddy Dan of "The Last Stand Boat Yard" for our fledgling Tonkin 1900 games. We've played one such game remotely thus far, and hope to play more soon.

Check out my blog or the Analogue Hobbies Painting Challenge blog for more pics and details.

Fabulous!

As I mentioned on my blog, I’m just finishing a couple of North Star’s 7pdrs for my Mahdists … soooo tiny but fun to do.

Cheers

Juergen, those are excellent photos! Thank you for sharing. I immediately saved them in my French sailor file, I’d never seen any of those before.

Thanks for sharing! I've been thinking of branching into French colonial.
