Some Painted Citizens
« on: 28 March 2007, 03:09:43 AM »
Painted by the very modest theoldschool uk. I just received the four Citizens of New Commerce painted.

I still need to base them of course, but I have not decided if they will become display or game pieces yet so they remain with no base.

Pat (theoldschooluk) is Rich's secret weapon, his British boffin toiling away behind the scenes. In addition to being a completely brilliant painter, Pat has also served as the editor for the last few books. This isn't an easy job--in many ways editing is the most tedious part of writing a rulebook. Pat not only corrects our grammar and spelling (he is kind enough to let us preserve our proper American spellings of "color" and "honor"), he also checks the rules for possible problems, and he is amazingly good at this. Pat can find problems with rules that I can't see, and he always has great suggestions for how to fix them. And he is fast.

I know Gloire was improved tremendously because of Pat's editing. Under the Black Flag has had the rough edges smoothed thanks to his keen eye and mind. So raise your glasses in salute to theoldschooluk, a man modest in his bearing and mighty in his deeds.
