Not at the moment.  Wife has occupied my time with her allotment and out daughters pony.  I will have some time in two weeks.

Got some time in around allotment duty and horse duty to do the basic construction.  First step was cutting out lozenge shapes out of cork board with smaller cut outs for the waterways and islets.  These were rasped on the edges to bevel it a little so the edges blended a bit with the base.  They were attached to mount board, and weighed down overnight while the glue set.  Lastly I primed top and bottom so they would not absorb as much moisture and warp.  My photo is not quite as exciting as everyone else's as this portion of the build is not really a technical challenge.

Looks enticing.  I can visualise a couple of hobbits and their sneaky companion making their way across these!

A good start, much easier to visualise what you’ve got in mind now

Well the jury is still out on my concept.  I always visualized this with tall grass surrounding small waterways.  To do this I have prepared the base with poly-filla and then glued random bits of teddy bear fur to represent the longer grass masses.  Poly-filla was again used to blend the bases of the fur to the base and the tops were trimmed.  The results:

Before I prime I have to get some colour into the grass.  Unfortunately it is unavoidable but this will be the only paint that I slap on before the ground is primed.
After everything set up I thinned some acrylic paint and added a rinse aid to help it soak into the fur.  This was dropped/painted/forced into the fur and combed out to separate the strands.  Once dry I brushed it out again to make sure the paint did not clump the fur.
Here is where we are at the moment.

Close up

I have some more brushing to do to get the grass to look more natural.

Finished adding stones and gritting the base.

Next step is priming.
Unfortunately all of the real detail will come once painted with the addition of water and vegetation.

So this is already the last time we'll see your entry before the 'great reveal'?

Looking great already though. Will the green remain as vibrant?

In answer to your questions I will put primed photos once that is done.  I am also looking for ways to tone down the green.  As I said the jury is still out on this one.  Unfortunately all of my previous experiences using teddy bear fur have not come out that great.
