Beowulf Miniatures
« on: 06 April 2021, 10:26:03 PM »
A return to my roots with some rather nice fantasy Dark Ages characters this week!  These are metal miniatures for Handiwork Games’s Beowulf supplement for D&D 5e.  They are character models for a fantasy version of migration period Northern Europe called the Whale Road and include a stunning and very nasty monster  - Muthbona for the scenario The Hermit’s Sanctuary- although a perfect fit for Grendel as well.

I decided that I wanted to add a few more warrior types so I painted up some old OOP Tanatus Saxons by Roy Eastland, which are a very close match with the Handiwork Games figures and ideal for some monster-hunting. They’ve all been done with white undercoats and a mixture of GW Contrast paints and regular acrylics.

The figures, digitally sculpted by Richard Dickens, are available from Handiwork Games as a metal set or STL files for printing.

Oh very nice, James. I think I want that monster. It definitely makes a better Grendel than the one from that Gerard Butler movie.
