Nice figures ...off to read the report.

Colonel Bill's stock the D'Arlo range which is by the same sculptor and a perfect match.

Brilliant pics. I have Reiver ancestry in my blood apparently, so this is a period I'm always contemplating. Great to get some more figure options too.

Koppi,

Thanks for the report and pictures.  Excellent painting on the figures and nicely presented with the terrain and buildings.

Would you have any objection if I reposted them on out Thistle & Rose Facebook page?

I think you have accurately in your blog pointed out the real beauty of the figures - they are very usable for other wars and conflicts.  I am using our figures to build companies for Pikeman's lament to use to game the Nine Years War in Ireland, the 80YW in the Netherlands, and Indian conflicts in North America.

As to gaming the Reiving activity itself, even with the unique aspects of the Hot Trod, it does seem like that is less of a wargame and more of a swashbuckling type game.  We really like the Frostgrave/Rangers RPG system by Osprey and we have been using these figures to build crews for Ghost Archipelago, essentially an age of expliration adventure game.  Later this year I hope to use the Ragners system in a Reiver setting.

Nice figures. I’d think either EnGarde (for small skirmishes) or Donnybrook (for larger ones) would work well for this period.

Nice figures!

Donnybrook is definitely a good game for reiving.

I use Donnybrook for my Elizabethan stuff, and can confirm it works well for the period
