By the looks of these, I'm sold.
But, how do they compare in size to other ranges?

They are smaller than the "original" GW skeletons.
I'm sure I saw some comparison pics with both the WA and the Warlord skeletons on this site not long ago, but I can't find it now.
I think the Oathmark ones were on the whole smaller than all those too.

Just taken a quick picture

Warlord, Old GW Skeleton Army, Oathmark

The Warlord ones are possibly the better sculpted  but the Oathmark ones are much easier to build.

The Warlord ones are also actually the original Wargames Factory ones - just the kits that Warlord bought and doubled the price on when Wargames Factory quit selling their own kits.

Nice work on the skeletons.

(looks at his small stack of unbuilt WF skeletons) I don't know what you're talking about... lol

I made it through maybe 7-8 before giving up on them.

Sizewise they don't look that much smaller, specially when observed at tabletop situations. Easier building is a plus, and I like those skulls more than the evil frowny Harryhausen-style of the ex-WGF skellies.

Undead are better off partly buried.  No feet to wrestle with if they're still up to their knees or waists in the dirt.  Heck, go to extremes and all you need to do is paint some grasping arms and the odd weapon poking out of the sod.  At least half the zombies and skeletons I've done over the years have been converted so they were crawling out of the ground rather than casually strolling around.  :)

These look fantastic! What’s the painting formula you’re using  for the bone and metal?

Thank you.
The bone is all Contrast paint over a white primer.
The metal is the old GW Dwarf Bronze covered in a wash that's a mix of browns and green.
I did buy the new GW bronze and the verdigris technical paint but I didn't like the result so went back to sploshing some brown and green washes together.

Skellies look great. :)

Are you diluting the contrast with the GW medium or using it straight from the pot?
