Hornby for 28mm?
« on: September 11, 2009, 12:16:11 AM »
Alright, I was lurking around in another thread and I someone mentioned Hornby.  A nice UK based company so that sells interesting things for trains.  Now I found the following:

http://www.hornby.com/buildings-and-accessories-172/r530/product.html

I've been looking for these for a while for a little Fallout project I have been working on.  As far as I know there are no O or S scale versions.  From what I have gathered from the website Hornby is all OO scale, which again my research seems to indicate is a bit bigger than HO scale.  My questions is will those pylons work form 28mm.  I have some O scale telephone poles that are roughly 18cm, the pylons are listed as 20.7 cm.   I would like to use both, will they play nice together scale wise.

I would appreciate opinions from those more knowledgeable of OO scale.  Thanks.

For things that don't have doors or windows, it should be fine. Those are the only things that woudl really give away something as the wrong scale.

They are 207mm tall, set against figures which are 28mm tall, of course they will work.  ;)
Actually I have lots of the Scaledale buildings too, and they are fine for 28mm gaming, Dad's Army and Sherlock Holmes for example. If its a home/club game and not a public display/participation it hardly matters, so approximate does fine for me.

Alright. :)  You know we gamers typically sweat the small stuff.
