And why is that?
Don’t worry for each painted units I sold I can buy 1 ½ unpainted units from Front Rank… this way I can build my own army… the only downside is that when I’m painting units for other, I can't paint my own and will end up with a quite sizable unpainted lead pile.
As for the interest in late 17th Century and early 18th Century, Front Rank announced that they will start working on a range for that period later on. It might help boost the interest a little. It seem that quite a few people, including myself, went to WSS when Front Rank release their figures… they were (are) too good to resist.
There is definite interest in the WSS over here, and our group has been finishing up armies for a campaign. The problem is that most WSS rulesets require a fairly large number of figures, and as a result, the 28mm option just isn't practical, especially at the prices being asked by some of the manufacturers, these days. I would have no problem with it - the figs look fine on the tabletop given the limited range of most weapons, for example. I do have several Bavarian and Danish troops for the conflict in 28mm, but the group wants to do 15mm... so there I am.
I have an Imperialist force myself; the wife has WSS Prussians.
As for what I painted...
- Finishing up a 3rd Canadian Division rifle company (Highland Light Infantry of Canada) for WW2 (around sixty figs to go)
- Painted up Late War Finnish Armor company in 15mm
- Painted samples for the Black Army site (and my own gaming purposes) of all existing figs. (Well, wife is painting the Xian cabal)
- Finished up the Indian portion of my Bactrian Greek army for FOG, started on the Phalangites (didn't get far. Lots of other projects.)
Hopefully will share photos of some of this soon.
