Abyssinian battle
« on: July 24, 2021, 08:27:49 AM »
The Battle of Second Tel-i-Tabi. Unfortunately, unfortunate Lee had to bring her army on in column, and elected to get all the lobsters on before the artillery which might have slowed my Abyssinians down. This was accordingly a very short battle; the Grand Negus' Guards smashed the Coldstreams in a frontal charge, and carried off the landing party of Rough, Tough, Jolly Sailor-Men, reeking of Rum, Tar, and Parrots, and Rotten with Pox and Scurvy, the 54th Hampshire foot, and Sir Percy MacHogg, KG, GG, VC; the Limey morale shattered at this point. Break out de green herb of wisdom, mon!

Pendraken figures.

The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.

My wife is the photographer, and was playing the Brits. I regret she takes far more pictures when she's winning! But I'll try to get some more pixs up after the rematch, which may take place tomorrow.

The Abyssinians had a harder fight today, but luck was with them. You will note some fleeing tribal troops in the background, and some of the Galla horse were shot up by the Gattlings.
Figures are mostly Pendraken; some converted with varying success from Sarmatians, some from Dacians, some from Masai, others from Rugga Rugga. The church is by Leven Miniatures.
