Velard Miniatures
« on: August 16, 2021, 04:57:20 AM »
Does anyone know what happened to Velard miniatures? I saw some of their space dwarves on an old forum and was hoping to pick some up. I found their eBay page but it looked pretty abandoned, is there any chance that another model company is still producing the sculpts? If there isn't, is there any other way I could get my hands on some or are they gone for good?

Mrs Velard was selling them on EBay but near the end she warned that there weren't many left. Some people managed to contact her and get some "off the radar" but even that stopped, after a while.

As to what happened to them, I have no idea and getting hold of some would probably be a case of trawling the second hand market...

Damn, well thanks for the information. As for the secondhand market, do you know what they were sold as? Just to try and narrow down my search?

They were sold as "Space Dwarfs" or "Space Dwarves" on EBay, NOT Squats.

It was a shame they disappeared because there were special weapons to go with the basic squad... but they seemed to only be available for a very short time :( .

IIRC they were a Russian caster, right?  Poking around the net there's a "Velard" from Russia who's got a Shapeways account, although they seem to be solely a buyer, not a creator.  Might be the same person if you were trying to get in touch with them about the old figs.
