Courier help
« on: 28 September 2021, 10:35:46 PM »
Having built the 3 feathers in and four Hobbit hole boards, theres now just the small matter of getting them from Scotland to Exeter.
Does anyone know of any couriers who would take this on at a reasonable cost?
Or, does anyone on here drive that route and would do us a HUGE favour?
Not keen on a 16 hour round trip, plus neither of us can make BOYL, the original planned delivery.
Fingers crossed theres a painless solution out there!

What is the size and weight of the package?

Some couriers offer fixed rates on parcels above a certain size/weight up to some pretty generous maximums. Usually, these are dropped off at a collection point (local store), and are then available from a similar collection point at the other end.

Its on 2x2 board, one 2x1, and four 1x1 boards. Plus a box of building sections.
Nothing majorly large or heavy.
Looking at local companies, but its not cheap so far

Failing that, UPS do a door-to-door service (collection and delivery) for a 2'x'2'x2' parcel, 1-2 days, for £28.

Edit: DPD will do it for £19.60

For the distance, size, and convenience, that doesn't seem too bad. If you can drop it off, or if the height is less than 2', or you can reduce the parcel volume in any way, the cost of this would drop.
