An odd assortment of characters
« on: 30 October 2021, 03:08:45 AM »
This past summer, I painted up a few figs to give to a friend. All but one were Reaper figs, and they were all plastic. Really easy to paint (although still challenging to make look good). The last one was of Nuada of the silver arm, by Jim Fitzpatrick. I forget which company makes it. It was metal, and was much more difficult to paint.

It seems like the more that I paint plastic figs, the less I want to paint metal ones. At least for me, the paint is much more easily applied to the plastic ones than to the metal ones.

Please excuse the unpainted hordes in the background!

Oooh, these are great.  Love the palette and the character in each of them.  My style (but painted better!) :D

Thanks, guys. And for as simple as basing should be, I absolutely loath doing it, so I try to make the bases as basic as possible (and still look decent).

You have a GORGEOUS assortment of BEAUTIFULLY painted characters...odd or not. OUTSTANDING WORK!
We do differ on the basing. I love doing bases. This could be yet another sign of imminent senility however.

I think your bases look great, as does our painting. I have similar feelings toward painting plastic as you; I think it is my painting style just looks better on plastic figures than metal.
