UVS: Wild West 29/12/2021
« on: October 31, 2021, 06:40:50 PM »
Way back when, I bought some metal Wild West figures to go with the Warhammer Historical rules (I seem to have mislaid the rules - I can find the Great War set).

Later I bought the Wild West Exodus starter set and painted up some of the figures (but have a number assembled but unfinished).

This time round, will it be different?

I hope so. I have started assembling the Great Escape plastic Gunslingers (and bought DMH), but as a distraction I have put together some more scenery.

Now, how long until there are some painted figures on here?

Of course the figures are great for SF as well.

Looks good mate! Keen to see how you get on. I want to do Wild West but just can not allow myself to start another genre.

Thanks.

Not a lot of progress so far.

At Salute I was going to buy some of the Sarissa 28mm scale Wild West Buildings, but they did not have them in stock at the show, so I ended up buying a selection of WarBases ones.

This is the first one assembled and base coated - some minor tidying up on the name board, a name and some weathering to do.

I filled in the trench at the roof peak with some 1.5mm plastic rod and covered it with tarpaper made from  tissue over PVA.

You can compare it with a Sarissa (40mm) scale shop here: https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=109084.msg1711065#msg1711065

Looks Ok to me so far.  The sign and weathering should finish it up nicely.

Looks pretty good to me - agree with the need for weathering.  Please post pics and any ideas from when you do it.

I don't have a gaming space yet but have been accumulated a number of buildings to build as well as pics to use as rough blueprints.  You might also consider taking the measurements of the buildings you buy and use them as a point of departure for templates for "build your own" templates using foamboard or similar.
