1/3000 WWII Ships
« on: September 24, 2009, 04:28:22 PM »
I recently got a copy of Victory at Sea, and to my surprise I quite like it.  I want to get some 1/3000 WWII ships to game with to go with some 1/3000 Davco USN I picked up cheap a little while ago in a moment of ebay madness lol

My options seem to be Davco or Navwar, with Davco (Skytrex) easier for my to order from, but Navwar having a more extensive range.  Anyone got any experience with either, or any other advice for a WWII Naval newbie?

If you can use the fax, Navwar is very quick and I can reccomend it. Skytrex has been pretty quick for me too but these days I stick to some of their 20mm stuff. I have some of their 1/3000 and I didn't like it as much as Navwar (something to do with the costs per ship moslty)

Both ranges are very similar in size so you easily mix and match.  I use mostly Navwar and I found their customer service second to none.  The only drama is you have to order the old fashioned way by post.  However, Spirit Games in the UK stock the full Navwar range and you can order on-line.  And they are a very good company to deal with.

If you are trying to get Navwar items from Spirit Games, read this first:

Navwar is no longer distributing minis to retailers - Spirit Games is certain to have some stock left but contact them first.

On the other hand, I have ordered directly from Navwar via fax - five days from pressing the fax button to receiving my minis here in Seattle   :)
