28mm Hands / Arms?
« on: November 25, 2021, 05:04:37 PM »
Is there any source of both left and right hands in 28mm?  I can do minor surgery by cutting off weapons or hands, but don't have the inclination to sculpt replacements.  I'm looking for hands that I can pin into place.

Worst case I can butcher other minis for replacements but would rather avoid that if possible!

Browsing on Itsey (?) I saw separate resin hands, including
some rude gestures.  :o

I’m sure Anvil Industries do some.

I use these;

But any 28mm plasticminiatires sprues would also have open hands  ;)

Thanks for the suggestions.  It doesn't look like any easy answers.  Since I only need s small number, a couple of other figures may need to be sacrificed for the collective good!

Yep, they do - lots in fact! I have a pack of these, and I found them very helpful. But if you type "hands" into their store search, you'll find lots of other types too. Their casting impeccable too.

If you only want a few, I’d post on the Wanted board on LAF. Most of us have lots of us have lots of spare plastic arms. I have some from a Saxon kit (forget who) that have both open left and right hands. Right hands may be the hardest to get as these often come with weapons in them

Why not instamould some off of a likely candidate?  You can cast in miliput or similar and set the pin in place when it is still soft.

You could try MEP miniatures

https://mepminiatures.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=75&product_id=123

I have not tried these myself I must add, but I have ordered from them and its good stuff

Plastic Napoleonic sets often have open left and right hands (to hold muskets). The Victrix sets have quite a few
