Now that I have (semi) retired, I am actually going to write this scenario book (honest!) AND get back into seriously gaming Back of Beyond.

January has been marked off for a month of intensive reading and writing.  It will cover not only Sternberg's adventures in the Back of Beyond, but also a couple of scenarios from his WWI escapades, army lists, uniform guides, reading list, as well as the latest updates on the core 'Setting the East Ablaze' rules.

I've been fortunate to have been able to access my youngest son's Academic account, and there have been quite a few new articles on the man, including some quite compelling revisionist thinking.  I will include all of this.

And at the forthcoming York war-games show, The League of Extraordinary Kriegspiilers will be putting on 'Beast's Men and Gods', a fictional three sided affair between Der Baron, the Reds and the Chinese (actually three Chinese armies), with a few British and German 'Butterfly Collectors' caught in the middle.  And gold, lots of gold!

Anyway, a couple of questions:

1. anything else anyone would want to see in this book?

2. and anyone know where I might contact the author of this brilliant piece for referencing purposes (thanks again Cuprum for sharing this, but do you know the author???):

http://www.kolchakiya.ru/uniformology/Ungern_div.htm

thanks in advance everyone

Steve

EXCELLENT! I look forward to this.
Sorry I cannot help with your questions - 1) you seem to have covered it all and 2) I do not know the answer to. Should I stumble across anything I think might be useful I will pass it on.
Publication date, and publishers name?

Splendid Mike!  Thank you

I’ll get it largely written in January. Then all the setting, photos, maps and photography. That will take about another 8-12 weeks. So I’d say May.  Caliver Books, as per the previous books, assuming we can come to a suitable agreement.

That is good news. I’ll definitely pick up a copy when it’s done.  Unfortunately I have no idea about the Kolchakiya author.  Good luck with the writing.

Sounds good.
There is one inclusion which I would like, but I guess copyright issues might make it a problem - Corto Maltese, who is capture by his men and eventually released.  :D

it was going to get a mention, but I suspect that's as far as it goes for the reasons you point out....

So many governments / politicians in the 1920’s would disagree with this statement  lol (You’re right though  ;) )
