After coming out of lockdown last year our club tried to get back to some form of normalcy, within the limitations of the continuing pandemic. To that end several games were planned and played in the later half of the year. Eight of these I played in, but for one reason or another I neither blogged nor posted on forums about them, as had been my habit previously.
So rather than try and do a separate post for each game I thought I'd summarise them with maybe a couple of pics where possible.
So:
Gorodeczna 12th Aug 1812 (Shako II)No pics
Rolica 17th Aug 1808 (Shako II)Willavera 1809, fictitious scenario (Shako II)Rorke's Drift 22nd Jan 1879 (Black Powder)Talavera 28th Jul 1809, Laval attacks the redoubt (Carnage & Glory)No pics
Borodino 1812 (Shako II)First Torgau 8th Sept 1759 (Black Powder)Peninsular War 1808 or 1810 Rearguard action (Shako II)Out of all these games I think I was on the winning side twice, Borodino, just, and the final game of the year the Peninsular War rear-guard action. Rolica and Rorke's Drift I lost on the final dice roll of the game, failing morale tests both times. This made me the first British CinC to lose the Rorke's Drift game at the club.
Hopefully I'll get some better luck this year and will get back into the habit of posting about the games.
If you want to see more pictures there are more on my blog,
Jabba's Wargaming with links also to the Club's photo albums as well.
