Royalist Regiment of Horse
« on: 12 February 2022, 05:36:11 PM »

This is the first of a number of new units for a For King and Parliament game at Partizan in May. These are Royalists (by demeanour and by cornet). There's more about them on my blog. https://forkingandparliament.blogspot.com/2022/02/to-horse-you-gallant-princes.html

Well done!   :-*

I like the various asymmetrical markings on the horses. Realistic!  :)

Simon, superb looking unit. Shame I won't be seeing them in May. Good luck with the game. Can I ask which manufacturer(s) are in the picture? I only ask as I am about to start the purchase of my early Parliamentarian cavalry.

Thanks

Thanks chaps. Yes is good to be painting ECW again. I find I have a lot of stuff built up in my basing queue. Roundway Down is an odd game as it only needs the cavalry minis, I'll need to find a new project for 2023 that uses the foot, too.

One slightly daunting thing about the ECW is the unusually high cavalry to infantry ratio present at many battles.  I've managed to get up to 1:2, but I have a distinct sense that I need another 100 or so cavalry, perhaps even more!

The minis are mostly Bicornes with some old Renegades mixed in. I really like the Bicorne cavalry, can't go wrong with them. Sometimes I mix in some TAG horses to increase the variety of poses.

Handsome  :-*
Can’t go far wrong with Nick Collier’s work for Bicorne and Renegade.
