Wargaming the American civil war

Hello,
Has anyone the paper soldier game from Peter Dennis? How are the rules?
Could they be used to play with miniatures?

I don’t have the ACW book.

But I have the WoTR one - and yes the rules could be used with miniatures - the paper figures in the book are designed to create 40mm square bases of paper figures. So would work directly with 40mm based miniatures. I can’t recall anything tin the rules that makes them only work for paper figures. Be aware that the WoTR rules do use pretty big units.
