Brigade or higher level game options?
« on: 10 May 2022, 12:27:18 PM »
Which rules are people using for Cold War or Modern games set at Brigade or higher level actions?
Or maybe more pertinently, is anyone playing post WW2 at this level of combat?

1 base equating as a minimum to a company.

I have (too) many sets of rules for 1 base per company down to per squad level games already. But above that I have still not settled on a set that will work with my 1/300 forces and is designed for to 2 or 3 player games, played through in 5 to 6 hours gaming.

I have been trying OPFOR from Hoplite, but as with it's Panzer Korps parent, although giving a great game, it takes too long and requires too many players once you get more than a supported brigade on the table.

I am aware of several sets of rules at this level but they mainly seem to be reworkings of each other and none seem to have much discussion or forum presence. Any favourites out there?

I use Nordic Weasel's 5core: Brigade Commander for WW3 in the 80s style games. I usea 50mm square bases as a company and a 30mm square base as a platoon sized attachment.

You should be able to find my battle reports here: https://spprojectblog.wordpress.com/tag/brigade-commander/

Hope that helps
