I HAVE THE POWER!!! (Florian’s MotU)

Inspired by the many thread about Masters of the Universe around here, but especially the ones by White Knight (https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=107478.0) and Malebolgia (https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=137255.0), I’ve decided to do a bit of Motu painting in between my 30yW project.

I’ll post a couple of wips and pictures in the coming days.

Here re a couple of Quest Miniatures available from the aftermarket at etsy. Some of the sculpts are really ace, but others are really poor. They are in any case sadly significantly smaller than the mew Archon models.

First Beastman and Stratos.

And a wip of Merman from Quest Miniatures (r) and Archon. As you can see there is no chance to combine both lines.

Cool stuff man! And if I were you I would just combine the ranges...who cares for some mm in difference. The "rule of cool" is always more important!
You could increase the height of the bases of the non-Archon ones, that should help with getting them more in line with each other.

I agree there is a size difference and will be keeping the battleground game a separate project from my main MotU project.

YIPPY! - Another MOTU thread - fantastic to see these posts. Like the heads up about the Quest Miniatures - always good to have options, do like the Beastman. I have struggled to however find these on Etsy do you have perhaps a link?

I’ll happily paint both lines and will see where I get in the end. It’s easier with the monstrous bunch - for sure.

It seems the owner has shut down his shop. I wanted to see if there was new stuff available, but *möp* no chance.
However, I’ve found another source for MotU models in etsy - available in 28mm AND 32mm. So I’ll keep both projects running!

Thanks. That’s actually a good idea. The Archon ones have nice sculpted bases that are considerably higher. Maybe I’ll rebase the Quest Miniatures…

Quest Miniatures (QM) Trap Jaw is nearly finished!

After a busy week with everyone in the family in bed with fever except me, I found a couple of minutes to do some quick painting. Here is the Quest Miniatures Ram Man. A lovely sculpt, very close to the toy and far smaller than the awesome Archon sculpt.
I like how he came out; still needs details, base and highlights and the two metal things on his breast. What are they anyway???

I also managed to work on Trap Jaw. My 3 year old daughter is a big fan of this sculpt and wanted to help. This slowed down work but was great fun.

Loving the new additions - I agree with your daughter - he is awesome or is it jawsome...

He is jawsome, definitely. We made up the story that he lost all his teeth because he never brushed them - you see I’m trying to educate while we have fun! - and now he has a metal jaw and has become evil because He-Man always makes fun about his looks…

The last couple of weeks were very busy on the real life front. We got Corona, the heat wave caught me four hours in a train stuck between two damaged signals and leaving badly dehydrated and our kindergarten seems to be more often closed than open.

Anyway, being inspired by the continuing awesome churned out by the like of Malebolgia and Golgotha I slowly worked myself through a couple of miniatures.

Here are nearly finished stages of several heroic warriors and bad guys from the Archon game. Hope you enjoy the progress….

I need to finish them damned eyes and the based, but otherwise they’re okay for my liking.
