Apologies..I cannot help myself.

Are these going to be called Han Gliders?

Appalling.

The figures, on the other hand, are cracking! I like the one taking flight - were you going to remodel the wire to make it look like the smoke coming out of the fire-cracker?

They look truly stunning. I echo what Oxiana says about sculpting smoke and sparks from the chap taking off.
Perhaps some cappock or cotton wool for smoke?

Yes guys that’s the idea, to use smoke to hide the wire.
I am not sure about the best way to make it?
I have tried in the past to paint cotton wool smoke but the dark colour ends up on the outside instead of the middle, which would look real.
Any ideas of the best way to go about making good smoke would be appreciated.

"There is no smoke without fire" - get a box of matches ;D

I think synthetic teddy fur is better as it can be teased out and posed better than cotton wool but you still have similar problems with the painting. Perhaps try a multi layer effect with each one getting more thinned out?

Beautiful conversions, very creative! I also would recommend pre-coloured cotton wool for smoke. I've got mine from a craft shop from the teddys and puppet department.

Excellent work GM. My US Marines are going to enjoy shooting down those gliders  lol

Don't let all this fun with glider troops distract from finishing your troop transport  :)

I have not forgotten the transport. I have been building these in between finishing  it off and painting it.

I have also just started on another vehicle. No pictures yet.

So that's why you wanted the soldering iron!  lol

I'm looking forward to seeing these in the flesh. Especially the Fan-men

As you may have noticed in my "Build something" entry I never managed to finish painting the Rocket kite men or finish building the second steam tank I was thinking about.
Hopefully I will finish painting the figures soon and will post some pictures then.
I think I will put the other tank on hold for now.

Bump.  Are there finished pics of the steam transport?  Did I miss them?  Love your work and am anxious to see it completed.
This is my boomstick!
