The Thrifty Gamer does Martians!
« on: 15 February 2009, 07:47:00 PM »
I have been making a concerted effort to paint figures that I already have rather than buying new ones. Together with this, my gaming buddy, Steve, and I have set ourselves the goal of painting one project a month and then playing using the newly painted figures in a game in the following month. This month I have focused on Martians for a game of Soldier's Companion next month and have posted a few pictures of the figures on my blog:

I hope they encourage you to get your own Martians out and use them. The next step will be to get the cavalry I need and paint up the rest of the Martians I already have. The next step after that will be the construction of a 15mm Martian gunboat to provide air support, together with some German walkers to provide ground support. Does anyone know of a manufacturer of 15mm Sky Galleons type Martians gunboats?

Cheers,
Ruarigh

Unfortunately the Paroom Station stuff is 28mm. I don't know of anyone who makes 15mm Martian flyers and Black Hat only do a couple of light flyers.

Tha best solution might be to look for a suitable 15mm or 20mm watrline resin ship that fits your concept (maybe an Arab dhow or Chinese junk?) and convert it into a flyer.
