Two fleets for Castles in the Sky
« on: July 25, 2022, 04:49:33 PM »
Two flying 1914 Great Power naval fleets for the game "Castles in the Sky" by Blood and Spectacles / Osprey Wargames. It is set a couple decades after the failed Martian invasion as faithfully chronicled by H. G. Wells, in the tense peace just prior to The Great War.

Each fleet has two battleships, four cruisers, and six escorts, set up generically so I can play whichever nations I want just by swapping flags. The battleships are roughly 70mm from stern to bow.

The superstructures and flying spars are Lego-compatible pistols and rifles. The rest is made of wooden coffee-stirrers and plastic card.

You, sir, are not allowed to attempt a takeover of the solar system until your octopus sobers up.

Super, duper cool!

Many "Raid" forces are a mix of 1 Battleship, 2-4 Cruisers, and 1-2 escorts.

These will work great!

Excellent, I was about to ask which range these were from, then I read the last couple of lines, and went back for a closer look - very clever and well executed.

Great looking fleet, Froggy!  :-*

Doesn't surprise me you built them yourself. You have a way of doing such things with wonderful results.

:o WOW! Excellent scratch built fleet.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

It is a brilliant idea, but I kind-of wish you hadn't shared the secret.

When I first looked at them I had no idea what you'd used, and now I can't unsee the guns lol
