The exp foam though, is nigh but indestructible ( impervious to chemicals & heat .. it burns black & does not deform like exp poly ).

I hack it roughly to shape, then pick bits out with my fingers.
The occasional hit with interesting  shaped items (e.g. Philips
screwdriver, the various parts of a pair of plyers or a set of keys)
also helps to randomize the destruction. You could also have
bits sticking out of the rubble, such as bits of sprue or a spare arm.

Why Thank you HGW,
I'm very glad to read it made you smile... I must be doing something good  :D :D :D

HB , oh yes I do similar things but the best tool I found is a steel wire brush ( the type they use to clean metal before welding & hurts like hell if you manage to hit your other hand with !!!)
you can also insert bits of chicken wire to simulate steel rebar.

OR

give it to him.....

Just imagine the amount of realistic damage he can do to your terrain/models !!!

This is just a joke obviously & I couldn't not share but the look on that dog's face is priceless ( wicked some might say  ;) ).

And you will smile for sure.

Imagine & you can.
Most see shapes you must see possibilities.

you'll find quite a few examples of that (dog chewed it) technique for my work. lol
Our dog adopts the 'I have upset you somehow, haven't I?' look.

Indeed but the most I see is the " what's for dinner look " from my 2 fox terriers and the way their eyes
seem to follow you everywhere even if they " seem " to be asleep....  :D

93 pages of posts of tons of model mayhem, I will definitely go through them ....

Enjoy. I started the thread at my wife's suggestion, as before that a lot of my work
was sold off or swapped or given away, so apart from the occasional photo (somewhere)
there is no record of that period of creativity. :'(
