Marion would go on to become a General in the Continental Army.

Cornwallis instructed Banastre Tarleton to capture or kill Marion and his Partizan band.
Marion frustrated Tarleton to the point of saying "As for that old Fox, the devil himself could not catch him."

Who can forget Leslie Neilsen as Marion on the Walt Disney Show?

Somehow it evaded me that Leslie Neilson (Airplane, etc.) had played Marion.

I watched every episode, made my mother buy me a biography of the Swamp Fox. I discovered that Marion wasn't a young man at the time and that Tarleton wasn't middle-aged, my first clue to Hollywood's take on history. Thanks for the post, lovely work as always.

I am glad someone got my reference to Leslie playing the Swamp Fox on Walt Disney, many years ago. I don't have vivid memories of the episodes, the way I recall Zorro, but I do remember watching the shows.

Awesome looking "Marion" figure and very iconic in appearance too.  Will you be using him in a game?  I've played the sceanrios from the "Swamp Fox" expansion from Too Fat Lardies.
