Agema Miniatures
« on: 19 October 2022, 06:33:31 AM »
While looking on a website, I ran across a company called "Agema Miniatures". Other than the box contents, I couldn't get much information about the miniatures.

Does any one know what scale (in mm, please) they are?

I'm trying to determine if their ancients would look good with 25mm Minifigs.

Is the plastic used for the figures very flexible (like Airfix or Hat) or stiff like those made of styrene.

Thank you.

Agama miniatures are 28mm. Their proportions are slender compared to most other 28mm figures. I don’t have any 25mm Minifigs, but I would be surprised if Agema miniatures fit with them. I’m not slamming Agema, they are crisply detailed and I used them in my own Republican Roman collection.

As far as material goes, the plastic is hard styrene.

Thank you very much for the information.  It doesn't help me that they won't work with Minifigs, but I have a friend who is building a 28mm Republican Roman army and they would do nicely for him.

I have some Agema Roman velites in 28mm. Quite nice figures in hard plastic. They fit well with Wargames Factory, Victrix, Essex, 1st Corps, etc. Much bigger than the old Minifigs.

Imo, they're the best R Roman figs on the market, especially plastics. The metal conversion sets they sell open quite a few possibilities with the basic sprues.

They rank up on Dbx basing *much* better than Victrix do, and imo, are compatible with a wider range of manufacturers then Victrix.

Bit of a fan, really. Looking forward to painting their Nubea.

Only issue I can think of is that there's no specific transfers for their shields afaik
