(Kickstarter) - Hasslefree Minis Galactic Universe
« on: November 06, 2022, 08:41:55 PM »
Hasslefree has just launched their new SF minis KS - link

Some of the minis look nice, others I'm not so keen on :?

£33 for 6 figures, £60 for all 12, so pretty decent prices given how much metal has gone up. There are resin pledges as well, if that's your thing

Claims to be fulfillment in April 2023, but given Hasslefree's recent track record I would not rely on that date ::)

It's already funded, so loads of optimists out there. Runs until 04 Dec, so plenty of time to think about it

Some interesting sculpts, but I tend to avoid figures with oversized weapons, so will probably give these a miss. Also, been burned by Hasslefree before, so buyer beware and all that. Still, I wish them every success with this.

I backed a kickstarter a few years ago where it was "pick any x from this group of y". I got the figures without too many problems.

He then ran another one, where it was "this is the group, take it or leave it". In the comments he said that trying to pack all the individual orders was a nightmare. I worry that Hasslefree are making the same rod for their back, as any six of 12 gives a lot of permutations (924 if the Internet is to be believed :D)

There's also the potential problem for them of a very popular figure meaning they have to spin more moulds than they anticipated, costing them more and leaving them with extra stock of less popular figures.

I'm going to back for six, but I'm not building any time dependent plans around them

Last 90 minutes of this, in case anyone meant to, but hasn't.

I stuck to the 6 figures + a couple of the others. There were loads that were tempting, but I'm not exactly short of stuff to paint, so they can wait for a while :D
