Napoleonic French Sailors
« on: November 07, 2022, 09:17:34 AM »
I hope to be getting Brigade Games French Sailors Packs in the New Year when No3 daughter does a four month secondment in Chicago and I can get access to a US postal address.

Does anyone have a photo of their painted examples they would care to share or a website with pictures for painting reference please ? This is a side project so I do not want to pay for a reference book, bluntly, if I can avoid it.

Thanks in advance
Cheers
Tony

Grubby Tanks does the Britannia Napoleonic Sailors, & lots
of other useful bits (cannon, figureheads etc.)

An example of Brigade Games Sailors, albeit RN not French, from the LAF's very own Captain Blood

Thanks for the link 'has_been' , was not aware of those.

Thanks Dr DeAth (not something thought I would ever write) - the side project is to put together a force to take on those very models as they come up the beach/over the harbour wall. Mine will nowhere near as good unfortunately.

I'm just apart to start these myself. Apparently French Sailors pre 1804 wore whatever they liked. So that may be helpful!

Thanks MartinD, planning a little later than that but coming to conclusion was not much uniformity post 1804 either. Will just avoid the blue jackets I think to avoid any confusion with the British
