Here's an example of a group of parts designed to work with an existing plastic set - in this case a modernization set for our Afghan Warriors. You'll see lots of things like this that will give you more options for the plastic sets. And, remember, just because it appears within Atlantic Digital doesn't mean it won't also be tooled for hard plastic.

Interesting, possibly enterprising but that won't get them past the fact that the clothing styles are decidedly old fashioned to be used as late 20th C/ 21st C Afghans. There's also the issue of webbing or rather the complete absence thereof. Really requires a new set of bodies and a few characteristic pakol hats.

Actually, even if you can live with the fact that the clothing and equipment will be wrong, the absence of any pakol wearing heads is genuinely surprising.

The East German judge is giving this  a 3/10. A more sensible approach would have been to have given the figures arms with Lee Enfields and the odd Mauser so they could be plausibly used into the early part of the 20th C.

They won't work for the classic Mujahadeen, especially in the North, due to a lack of webbing and Pakols. But, if you can live with the clothes, they will work for Taliban in Helmand and Kandahar. Pakols are very rare, I mostly saw turbans and skull caps and they'd generally not bother with webbing, just one or two mags so they could get away quicker. Of course I'm only talking about my time there 06 - 13, they are massively different now.
