I took a break from the boxes to show this lot that I am working on.
These are Early War Riflemen wearing that big, false front cap.

As noted these are WIP's. I'll put them up on their own thread when I finish them.

And I'll be back to move onto Box # 7 later on.

They look great! What is the biggest battle you ever fought with this huge army?

Foul ball!  I spy an untextured base in the lot.  How did that sneak in?  Hopefully easily remedied.

Lots more cool stuff.

10/14 edit: reference is to photo of Lafy's Lights with a bare metal base in the mix, not the WIP photos.  Apparently I was replying 'out of sequence' somehow on page 1 when stuff was already on page 2.  Just sayin'.

15's  I just started working on those "untextured bases".
Those are WIP's.

Freddy,  I probably can do almost any battle, but I first concentrated on Cowpens.

I have the entire OOB for Cowpens finished for both sides.

I have all of the Saratoga battles covered, only missing the Brunswick Dragoons, which sadly, no one makes yet.
Guilford and all of the Southern battles are also pretty much finished.

I have a few units left to do for the Philly Campaign.
That's about it!

Oh well!  Moving on to box # 8

This is the New Hampshire box, containing all 3 NH Regiments.
1 ST NH
2 ND NH
3 RD NH
3 RD CT (apparently I have 2 3 RD Conn. Regiments)
A Unit Designation change is in the works!!!

Dude!  You are posting so much so often it's hard to keep up!  lol. Also, I was down sick for several days so not as coherent (???) as normal.  (120 posts - not all unique threads, of course, just since the beginning of September, plus one on August 31, and all related to the AWI, some on terrain versus troops.  Yes, I counted - with a little help from LAF.)

So, you have enough figures for the battles you've listed but I believe the questioner was asking if you've actually played any battles with your massive collection of figures (I think).  Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe you've stated that you don't play just collect and paint and share with us hoi-polloi.  When you have your table you mentioned was in progress, will you be using it to play games - or just for set-ups and photography?

Well, if true, this hoi-pollou (singular?!) is enjoying seeing all of this stuff.

[note: this poster is blissfully ignorant of proper singular usage of hoi-polloi so has invented his own singularity.  he has a special license to indulge in such shenanigans.  and he's not hoity-toity at all.  well, not very often.]

Oh, wait, yes, I like the figures - and looking forward to the next few boxes with their 'ambiguous' labels.

Those blue faced red standard bearer stands can be added to just about any unit - regardless of the rest of the unit's uniforms.  Just think of them as the best dressed men in the unit because they are a little better off financially than the rest.  And that is very historical.  After all, when all was said and done, good 'ole George Washington when he passed on was considered to be the richest man in America.  I'm not sure it is true that 'the cream always rises' (well, literally, yes, but metaphorically not necessarily) so much as the scrabblers usually jostle their way up.  George was definitely ambitious to the N'th degree evidenced from an early age.  Staying the course - and declining the proffered crown - are where his greatness lies.  But he was still a man.

So, hope that reply was prompt enough!  lol

I’m enjoying seeing all these splendid units getting an airing and a photo opp!

I’ve resisted AWI so far. So far…

I do like that you have left some breathing room in the storage boxes, I tend to fill every last square inch - to maximise space, but this gives a much better presentation of the figures!

It sounds like you are finding forgotten gems, so feels that the exercise is worthwhile - I allways find having photos of my figures very useful to remind me of what I have.

Trying to recall, was there just the one American unit that wore red coats as a 'normal' uniform?  Need to get back to my reading, I guess.  Maybe just a quick perusal of Mollo will do.  Soon.

That'd be Smallwood's Maryland Battalion in 1776. As the 1st Maryland Regiment, they went to blue coats in 1777.

I think Giles did them up in hunting shirts - I can't remember if there was something about someone realising before Long Island that red coats might be risky.

There was Webb's Regiment that wore captured British Uniforms.
Foreman's Reds which was an "additional' Regiment.

There's at least two others.
