John Blanche art?

This is a message to you old timee's out there.

Have you ever seen this artwork before? I'm almost 100% sure it's JB, I did run it past him but it's from the 70s/ early 80s, & he's done so much work since then he wasn't too sure himself if it was published.

So i was just wondering if anyone recognises it and where it was published.

Hi Nick. Not sure if this is helpful or not, but I got really into JB's stuff in the mid-'80s and don't think I've ever seen that painting before. This means it almost certainly wasn't used by any of the usual suspects (GW, Citadel etc.) as I'm sure I would've seen it if it had been.

My thought was maybe it was an early WD/ other magazine cover, or some art within a publication I'd never looked through.

I'm sure it never used for Warhammer.

I like that, it would definitely be interesting to find out more about it. That's the sort of artwork that got me interested in Warhammer in the first place.

I have seen it before, although I can't remember where - I think it might be a white dwarf cover.

I started at 52 so I think it's before that.

Weirdly, I have two pieces of JB art that I do know where they were used, yet aren't on that blog.
