I can't find any Morrow Project miniatures!
« on: December 12, 2022, 09:45:45 PM »
....and I don't want any!

Any oldsters out there that still remember The Morrow Project RPG?   Y'know, the one with the terrible art and overly-complicated rules?    Well they went into another edition.   The art is a bit better, but the rules are still way too complicated.   Shame about old Timeline, ltd.   Their website is now gone as well.

Anyhow, they had some minis made decades ago.   Can't really find 'em nowadays and they don't really stack up with what's out there today quality-wise.   So NO, I don't really even want the old MP minis.  Instead, I converted some 28mm Vietnam minis, with a few british commandos modded and painted to match.   The Morrow Project, being a product of its time, has a distinct Viet Nam plus feel to the uniforms, equipment, etc.

The HAAM suit was a robot figure with some putty......    Plus some vehicles.   Resin cast and 3d printed with minor mods.

Leave the old lead for the collectors, "mint in original package"

These guys are really cool. And fit the Morrow project well.
The Morrow project is still kicking.

Yes I remember Morrow Project (that may explain my three V100s - only one of which is not assembled and painted).

Nice work.

The Cadillac Gage Scout was always one of my favourites.

The Morrow Project was very formative to my imagination.  As complicated as it was,  it fed the beast of my gaming and reading habits through the years.  It's funny how something like this could be so memorable.

I cannot remember how the rules worked, we used Twilight 2000/Dark Conspiracy (V2?) as the game engine.

But yes, it was an important inspiration for a number of games.

Plus an assortment of weapons that I had not heard of before (the Morrow Projects fascination with the Gyrojet weapons, Armbrust, handflammpatrone  etc).

The original (early 1980s) miniatures were a mix of quality; we used one or two of them, but mostly various figs meant to represent 1960s-1980s American troops. We had a friend create a 3D printable model for the V150 and the XR311 on shapeways; and found a Marx model of the SK.5 that is slowly being converted for the Project's big hovercraft.

the original rules were a strange mix of complicated in some areas, and super-basic in others. Our current campaign (running on and off for about 12-15 years now) uses modified Call of Cthulhu rules.

The figures in these pics are all original MP miniatures, by the way.
