Salute 2020 spitfire kid by Paul Hicks
« on: December 17, 2022, 05:20:47 PM »
Hi all
I’ve not been great recently, so in between Oathmark chaps I painted this little guy as a change of pace.  I guess he’s about 1/48 in scale.

Lovely sculpt, a little cartoonish in places, but really captures the joy of playing with toys…..
I know the spitfire colours are not correct, but they were the ones his dad had in the shed.  To the child, they are perfect!

Very nice. Strangely enough I picked up this figures at my local games shop for £1 last Sunday, and plan to paint it over the Christmas period as a break from my Sharp Practice Vendee rebels.

Cheers Bud.  You will enjoy painting him.  Very well sculpted and full of joy.

Lovely little figures you guys have done there,

Reminds me of the time my younger brother and I were playing with diecast planes when we were kids in the late 60s.  He chucked a metal spitfire at me.  I was supposed to duck.  I didn't.  The little bugger hit me in the forehead.  I still have the scar to prove it... :o

Very nice Harry.  I think yours is closer to the period in uniform.  Love the cap in particular.  Mine looks a little too modern.

Cheers buddy.  I worked him out at about 1/48 I think….definitely not 28mm, he’s as big as a 28, even though he’s not fully grown.
