Imperial Roman Legio XI - Sagittarii March 26
« on: 10 January 2023, 07:05:46 AM »
This year as part of the entry of the Analogue Painting Challenge I am painting imperial Romans for both Infamy and Impetus.

First up a two units of Roman Sagittarii, a mix of Foundry and Warlord Miniatures, based for skirmish games.

Western archers

Eastern archers

General Maximus, a miniature from the warlord range, a little small as a figure but well sculpted.

Brings back memories of watching the film with our daughter. After the film she asked “what happened to Hell?”
My mind went blank. Then it dawned on me. Before the cavalry attack Maximus ordered “unleash hell!” And so she though the dog was called Hell.
In my own legion the dog is called “Gehenna”.

Thank you,

It is Simple sand painted, drybrushed, flock, then tufts and sponged green.
