at the moment I got about 18 zombies assembled...
Still gotta remove mould lines and stuff...
and this, in a nutshell is the downside of multipart figures....TIME....
Still debating as to if I should paint them grayish or brownish,
How did you manage to paint your zombies AKULA, I like how you did them.
I started painting zeds May last year, so the way I finish them has evolved over time. Started off very pale grey, went through a brown phase (dried up ones), and have now settled on an inbetween stage.
For speed painting of large numbers:
(1) Base coat with spray paint - a medium brown, or light grey (nothing too dark and overpowering).
(2) Paint flesh - I use a mix of Citadel Elf Flesh, Foundry Tan (Brown), and Slate Grey.
(3) Do the eyes, hair, clothes.
(4) Touch up the flesh, where you've made a mess with (3)
(5) Wash with Citadel Devlan Mud wash - gets in all the creases, and gives a more dark, forboding look.
(6) If you've got time add some highlights/drybrush, the skin again, and creases in the clothes.
(7) Add gore! TCR (Tamiya Clear Red) with a bit of black/brown mixed in - use an old brush though! Also useful for hiding bits you've missed!
If you paint 10-20 in one sitting, by the time you've finished the last one, the first one will be ready for the next step.
If you paint a horde base (a whole load of zeds stuck close together), prime them in the colour you want the base to be, otherwise it will be a nightmare to finish the base off!
Plenty of guys on here paint zeds, and have their own ways of doing so - Vyper, for example, will have his own way of painting, which suits him - the important thing is that you find a way that you are happy with, and can replicate on a mass scale.
Have fun!
