This is actually slightly scary.   If his ACW ever gets to rival his AWI figure collection - well, his wife might move him out to the garage!   lol

Will sanity reign or will the delights of going nuts in this hobby become his affliction with ACW?  Who knows?  I keep waiting for sanity to strike me hobby wise and it has only had minor impact so far!

15's    The ACW collection is at least equal to the AWI.
And the LOTR stuff is probably a step  below, but not much.

I've been collecting toy soldiers seriously since 1976.
I retired in 2001, which allowed me plenty of free time to work on my toys.

My first love is Marx playsets.
See here.
This is my garage!

I also have ACW in 54 MM metals.
I started in metals with Busslers
Like these.
I picked up this china cabinet from a Salvation Army store and reworked it into a cool display piece.

" his wife might move him out to the garage!   lol"

My wife is the best. She's very understanding about my obsession.

My garage is my workplace and storage room.
There is no room for me. As you can see, it's packed!!

My wife is the best. She's very understanding about my obsession.

An understanding wife is so very fine. My wife will see things in a store and call my attention to it. "Could you use this for terrain?"
A painter, she also has color advice. "Silver looks better on a black undercoat." Etc.
And the glorious general led the advance
With a glorious swish of his sword and his lance
And a glorious clank of his tin-plated pants. - Dr. Seuss

Well, my wife is pretty understanding, too, most of the time.  But early on she INVADED MY GARAGE!  Oh, the audacity of her to trespass into a man's domain!  Many years later I invaded her Xmas decorations shed with some of my miniatures.  Turn about is fair play, right!?  :o :D lol

I only have about half of my garage devote to miniatures - and about a third of that shed and in my 'train' room, underneath and crammed wherever I can put it.  Most of the terrain is out under my gaming table in our lanai (covered back patio attached to house).

Amazing volume of stuff for a 15 mm (and a little bit of 10 mm gaming).
