Question about Pendraken's Warband 10mm game?
« on: March 12, 2023, 01:45:44 PM »
Hi everyone,

I’ve taken an interest in this game as am a big fan of mass battle games like Oathmark and Oldhammer. Am just trying to find out if the Warband rule set is similar to these.

Does the game use flanking rules, pivot moves etc.?

I suppose what am trying to find out is it like Oathmark or more like Dragon Rampant?

Thanks  :)

I don't know either Oathmark or Oldhammer but the rules Warband remind me of most are GWs Warmaster rules or HotT.

Each unit is a single base. The base is important, the figures on it not so much, providing everyone knows what the base represents. Heroes and Wizards are a unit/ base.

For a basic game armies are probably going to be single digits of units. That said, if you have the time and space feel free to let your megalomania run wild!

It's a top-down, fast play system which I think gives a good game. Were I not so invested in Warmaster I'd be playing Warband. YMMV.

Hope that's helpful.

Ah brilliant, thank you for that.

I have my 10mm stuff based up for Warmaster Revolution funnily enough but I've only played a handful of games and am always looking for different systems to play with my collections.

Really appreciate the reply  :)
