Are Warlord releasing new EIR?

The original WG Imperial Romans were ‘ok’ but a bit on the small side.

I caught a rumour that a new improved range may be on the cards?
Or is this just indeed a rumour?

I do remember seeing this somewhere as well, might of been in wargames illustrated from one of the awards thingies, as I seem to remember them talking about the armoured car kits at the same time.

Tim, I don't know if you have Hail Caesar 2, but there are some pictures of EIR Legionaries which I have never seen before and definitely look better than the plastic figures.

I thought I saw something about this 6 plus months ago. Weren't these a small (number of figures, not size of figures) range of EIR that was originally carried  by Norhtstar  a decade or two ago, subsequently discontinued, and now purchased by Warlord and scheduled for re-release?

The figures I mentioned are shown on page 101 in Hail caesar2, unfortunately can't scale them as they are shown on their own. That old North star range was Imago Militis however from memory those figures were just as small as the current EIR plastics.

Well it doesn't look if Victrix are going to issue EIR Legionaries wearing either chainmail or scale armour so there is still an opportunity for Warlord's, especially as apparently these were considered to have been used throughout the whole Imperial era and may have been more popular than the lorica segmentata.

Actually the EIR in the Hail Caesar book are the Warlords metal Roman battle line figures which are the same size as the Roman auxiliaries so head n shoulders above the plastic EIR.

I wondered about that, thanks. Just checked them out. They're nice figures but  £17 for eight figures is quite expensive.
